We’re diving into the world of RV breakdowns in this episode. It’s a journey filled with unexpected detours, often-unreliable roadside assistance, and the ever-present challenge of working from a home office constantly on the move. From our first major tire blowout on busy I-10 in Florida, to seeing a friend navigate equipment failure in a brand-new motorhome in California, we’ve seen it all.
And then there’s the time our home-on-wheels decided to throw a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT Party just as we were gearing up on a new long-distance adventure to Arizona.
Living, traveling, and working full-time on the road has taught us a lot about RV Work Life Balance, especially when that “Life” part throws a wrench into your plans. We’ve learned the hard way that flexibility, preparation, and a sense of humor are key to getting through unexpected situations.
So, how do you keep your work-life balance in check when your rolling home decides to break down? We’ve got a few stories and tips to help you navigate these detours. From emergency road kits to essential roadside assistance plans, and the art of working remotely from just about anywhere (even a Cummins repair facility waiting room in Phoenix!), we’ve covered it all. And through it all, we’ve managed to keep smiling, keep traveling, and keep working… right on time. 😬
